Flight to Copenhagen

My European vacation started on Wednesday afternoon.  My parents drove me down to LAX and, despite some pre-rush hour traffic, I arrived in plenty of time to still have to wait for about forty-five minutes between clearing security and boarding.  The international feel began quite soon, as I began hearing a number of foreign languages around me starting as soon as I arrived at the ticket window.  I was able to recognize a few languages, but I was surprised at the number of languages I was unable to place, either because I had never heard them or I just couldn't figure them out.

My foreign language immersion continued on the flight.  I was flying Lufthansa, which is a German owned airline, into Frankfurt, so, naturally, the flight crew was (or seamed) to be all German.  I was thoroughly impressed by the way that they were able to switch between German and English with incredible ease.  Good job German educational system.

The ten hour flight to Frankfurt was alright.  I watched Date Night and Clash of the Titans as part of the in flight entertainment.  I was also able to sleep for about three hours.  Neither the movies nor the sleep was very noteworthy.

After a two hour layover in Frankfurt, I boarded the two-ish hour flight from Frankfurt to Copenhagen on SAS.  I slept much better on this flight, but mostly out of pure exhaustion than comfort.  After getting my bags I found the proper train and headed to Copenhagen Central Station, which was near my hotel where I'd stay for the night.

George Contreras, who I was going to be coaching with in Sweden, provided me with very good directions to the hotel from Copenhagen Central Station.  Exiting the station I was struck by the large number of bikes, many unlocked and able to be taken, parked at the station.

I checked into the Cabinn City Hotel, got situated, then returned to the train station, only a few blocks away, to grab a quick bite before it got dark.

The walk to Copenhagen Central Station, above, was still well lit, even at 9:00pm.
